BEFORE YOUR APPOINTMENT

Different health conditions and medications may make you unsuitable for the treatment so we do an in depth consultation to try and eliminate any problems that may occur.

Some conditions and medications that may not be suitable are:

  • Prone to Keloid scarring
  • Skin diseases or irritations such as Psoriasis, Eczema or Dermatitis
  • Heart issues
  • Diabetes
  • High or Low Blood pressure
  • Thyroid conditions
  • Undergoing or have undergone Chemotherapy recently
  • Pregnant or breastfeeding mothers

Here's how to prep your skin for your appointment:
6 weeks before:

  • Discontinue Oral Vitamin A such as Roaccutane, Isotane or Doxycycline.
  • Avoid invasive skin treatments such as IPL/laser, peels, or skin needling.
  • Avoid taking antibiotics, evening primrose oil, fish oil

2 weeks before:

  • No Botox or Fillers 2 weeks before or after your appointment.
  • Avoid tweezing/threading or waxing brows.
  • No tan or sunburn on your face.

On the day:

  • Do NOT exercise
  • Avoid caffeine, alcohol, or Ibuprofen

Make sure to wash your hair the day before your appointment as you won't be able to wet your new tattoo for 7 days after your treatment.

WHAT WILL HAPPEN ON THE DAY:

We'll invite you into the treatment room and go through the consultation form with you where you can ask any questions that you may have. We'll then get you to lie down on the treatment bed and apply the numbing cream. After 30 minutes we will start a full measure and shape. A mirror will be given to you to show you the shape and where the tattoo will go. Once you're happy with the outline, we will begin!

AFTERCARE

We will give you an aftercare balm to take home with you, please apply a light coat to your tattoo twice a day for 7 days. If you start getting scabs, then you aren't applying enough aftercare balm. Do not pick any scabs that may have formed as this can pull the pigment out.

Things to avoid for the next 7 days:

  • Direct water contact
  • Sweating (no exercise)
  • Sun exposure
  • Make up on the area
  • Swimming
  • Creams, lotions, skincare or oils - Use only the aftercare balm provided

Your new tattoo will go lighter/darker after the first few days, but this will settle into the skin nicely after one week.
